75,25 % FOR LAFITE HER FIRST MUSIC TEST EVER (02-07-2010)

On the 24 th of June Marie and Lafite had a competition at Hoofddorp.
They did a very good Prix St George test and came fourth with nearly 67 %. Because of this good result they qualified for the music test. They did a very good test with no mistakes, very nice half passes and pirouettes.
With Robbie Williams’ Morning Sun and Train’s Hey soul sister, Lafite and Marie rode a test that got a score of more than 75 % and came third.

ERIN AND DANNY BOY IN THE TEAM(02-07-2010)

Erin Williams and her Danny Boy B had a very good competition last weekend at Hickstead. This was the last qualification to get placed into the team for the European Championships.
They came second in two tests and they won the music, so they qualified. We wish them lots of good luck at the European Championships, held in England from the 27 th of July till the 1 st of August.



FIRST OUTDOOR COMPETITION 2010 (06-04-2010)

Marie and Lafite came fifth last Monday at Ermelo in the Prix St George out of 30 competitors.
They had a very nice test with highlights being the half passes.


WELL DONE TO ERIN AND HER DANNY BOY B (06-04-2010)

Erin Williams rode her first International competition ever. And how ??!!
The came fith with nearly 72 % in the team test at Addington Manor.
They were also fifth in the individual test and had a score of 70 % in the music.
Well done !!!

GOODBYE TO AMY (13-03-2008)

On Wednesday the 12th a sad accident happened. Amy died.
She was 12 years old. It was a friendly dog that always came to say "welcome" to everyone.
We shall miss her very much.


ENJOYING THE SUN IN FEBRUARY: TRAINING OUTSIDE (12-02-2008)

Marie José is riding the 7 years old gelding Ufo (Nourejev x Jester). He is trained at Medium level.

Sajouti (V: Clavecimbel) working. Marie José competed the mare successful at ZZ-Light (65,87%).


MARIE JOSÉ AND SHAKIRA SELECTED FOR DUTCH FINALS INDOOR DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIP KNHS (10-02-2008)

In Harmelen Shakira showed her developments. There were 36 combinations in the ZZ-light.
With 65,14% and the 6th place, Marie was very pleased.

The finals are in Roosendaal on 22, 23 en 24 February.

WHAT MOTIVATES ME? (10-11-2007)

What motivates me to travel from The Hague, an hours drive from where I work and live, to Schalkwijk five times a week, where my horses work, eat and sleep?

Judith van der Kwast tells her story:
A very long time ago my horse Pim was stabled near to where I worked, the supermarket and my bed. He was only tree years old, very young, frisry and green. I really wanted to ride Pim in a clinic given by Marie José in Maassluis. Everyone said at the time it would be good experience. During the clinic Pim showed his best side by chucking me off straight into the sand.
The next day Marie José rang me to see how I was. I felt like a train had driven over me. Bruised and basned I replied, "Well yes, everything is fine" (not letting on that it wasn't). "But I do think I could do with a bit of help with the little lad."
Well that's the story of how Pim came to live at Stal Hulsman. Where he has been for the last five years being brought up! In the beginning he would stay in Schalkwijk in training for a few months. But when he came home again his old tricks would slowly start again and he would became a handful! So eventually I decided to give up and make a deal with Pim: If he was allowed to stay in Schalkwijk, he was never allowed to make my life difficult again. So the deal was done! And up and till today, I have always been pleased with the deal, because everyday at Marie José and Jeroens yard always feel like coming home after a hard days work.

And Saartje? My other lovely horse? It turned out in the end, well behaved Pim got a bit boring and as I had to drive all that way, I needed another challenge. So there was nothing stopping me buying another strange horse. So I bought Saartje a very big nervous horse which needed a lot of attention.
This way it stays exiting!

SUCCESS VOOR VAN GOGH (22-7-2007)

Nearly one year ago, Dressage Stable Hulsman sold the 4 years old gelding by Farrington x Flemmingh to Mrs. Rise Grover in the USA. Sabine Rijssenbeek negotiated this deal. The breeder of Van Gogh is Mrs. Klifman from Enschede.
Van Gogh has been very successful in lots of classes he competed in. Sabine Rijssenbeek is training Mrs. Grover who owns a dressage yard named M2Sporthorses Tucson.


Vlimmen on this site in 2006 and Van Gogh in 2007 with Mrs. Rise Grover.


A WELL DESERVED HOLIDAY IN CANADA (26-6-2007 to 3-7-2007)

On the 28 th of June Marie-José, Jeroen and Lisette left for Vancouver where they took a small aircraft to the mountains saving them a ten hour car journey. The destination : a ranch, near Chilko Lake, in the middle of nowhere. The ranch was the base from which a variety of fantastic tours were given by two guides, Dominique and Ashley, who informed them a lot about the nature. The people on the ranch were very friendly and interested in their daily experiences. Most daytrips were on a horseback and one day by boat. Sometimes the horses had to cover difficult terrain up the mountains. Descending the mountains the horses were very skilful, careful and cautious.




MARIE-JOSÉ COMPETES THREE HORSES AT OUDE TONGE (24-6-2007)

Marie-Jose competed three horses. They all came to show their developments. Along with some fans: Hennie, Christa, Greet de Jong, Jan and Lisette de Vries, with their grandchild Roos, came to the competition to help and show their support. With two wins and one second place, Marie was very pleased.

Shakira and Treffer were competed at ZZ- light. Shakira came first with 65,31 %. Shakira was more relaxed than her first show in May. Treffer’s experience defiantly showed. Even the heavy rainfall didn’t throw them off their balance. 62,74 % was the final score and a second place.
Lafite took part in her second young horse class and did very well. She came first with 65,68 %.





OTHELLO IN YOUNG RIDERS TEAM FOT THE USA (6-7-2007)

Othello (V:Jumbo Jet) is picked for the Young Riders team USA with his owner Laura Walfish. In the first week of august the championships wil take place.



OTHELLO was third with Marie José on the Dutch championships of Nijmegen in 2003 ZZ light. Also he was succesfull in the heavy tour of the ZZ and the Prix St George. In the international field he was among other things third in Wiesbaden in 2004, after that he was sold to Laura.





  LE MONTRACHET SOLD TO GREEK RIDER (25-3-2007)

After many successful years for Marie José and Le Montrachet there is a downside.
Last Saturday Marie José and Jeroen took Le Montrachet to his new home in Germany.
Eva Senn has sold Le Montrachet to a Greek rider Katerina Zos, who is a good and sympathetic rider trained by Dieter Laugks.
Of course it was a difficult goodbye but Marie José was pleased with his new home. Marie José said: "They have a lovely accomodation and the Grey will be very happy there".
Everyone at Stal Hulsman will miss him and wish them both well.





AUDRA FLECK-SNIJDERS THIRD PLACE IN GRAND PRIX (13-3-2007)

Dr. R. Fleck has bought Rainland Mel from our yard as a 4 year old horse.
Audra, his daughter, has trained Mel up to Grand Prix and she came third last weekend at the Thermal World Cup qualifier in Canada.
Audra and her husband Patrick Snijders are riding and training several horses they have bought from our yard. They also have a very good 4 year old mare by Nassau in training that is owned by Dressage Stable Hulsman.

Home again Le Montrachet had a day off and spend his time in the paddock.




SUPER FREESTYLE FOR LE MONTRACHET IN BRAUNSCHWEIG, GERMANY (11-3-2007)

Marie was very pleased with Eva Senn's Le Montrachet. He had a score of 73.30% in the freestyle. Le Montrachet scored eights for his extended walk, trot and canter.
They were placed fourth in a strong competition. Alexandra Korelova won the class.

GOOD TEST FOR LE MONTRACHET (04-3-2007)

Marie-José and Le Montrachet rode a good Grand Prix test last weekend at Oude Tonge.
This was in preparation for the Braunschweig show in Germany this weekend. They won with nearly 66%. The piaffe and pirouettes were very good. They only had one small mistake with the one tempi changes, which was a shame.


NEW STAR FOR MARIE ?? (15-1-2007)

Jeroen and Marie bought the 3 year old ZELDICK (Scandic x Jazz). His expression and movement promisses a lot for the future.




JEROEN JUDGED FINAL THREE YEAR OLD SPORTHORSES (13-1-2007)

Together with Jaques Laarakkers selected Jeroen the best 12 horses in the finale of the VSN troffee. These 12 horses were judged again in the afternoon by Ton de Kok and Rogier Schulkes.
Hans Peter Minderhout won the class with the full brother of Painted Black, Painted Black II (Gribaldi).

GOOD SCORES FOR LE MONTRACHET AT HIS FIRST WORLDCUP QUALIFIER. (25-11-2006)

Marie and Le Montrachet did have their first World Cup Qualifier at Maastricht. They were placed 12 th in the Grand Prix with a nice score of nearly 66 % In the music test they had a score of 70,25 % and were placed 11 th. Marie was very pleased with Le Montrachet. Their next show will be in London on the 12 th of December. Also a World Cup Qualifier.
       

LE MONTRACHET WINS INTERMEDIAIRE II IN SAUMUR (24 -09-2006)

Marie competed Le Montrachet in France. At the CDI Saumur they won the Intermediaire II and they were third in the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special. Marie was very pleased with the grey gelding who is owned by Eva Senn. He was wonderful to ride and he was in a very good balance. Marie also took the 7 year old mare Shakira to Saumur, just for training. Shakira was brilliant to work at a different place. She also enjoyed the cross country obstacles. Shakira is owned by Mr. and Mrs. de Vries.
